The 2016 Johannes Linneborn Prize

Congratulations to Dr. Jack Saddler who received the 2016 Linneborn Prize during the European Biomass Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam.

“Professor Saddler is a pioneer and innovator into why pretreatment, fractionation and enzyme hydrolysis have to be optimised to provide the front-end of a Biorefinery and he has contributed to many policy-related issues through work with organisations such as the International Energy Agency.”

The Linneborn Prize was established in 1994 to honour scientific, technical or managerial merit in the development of biomass, attained over a long period of continuous achievements and is awarded periodically to a single individual.  The prize is named in honour of Johannes Linneborn, a pioneer of wood gasification.

The Green Fuels Industry Award 2015

Prof. Jack Saddler was honoured by The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA) in an event held on Dec. 2, 2015, with the Green Fuels Industry award, for his hard work and dedication to the advancement of renewable fuels in Canada.

“Dr. Jack Saddler is a world leader in the conversion of forest residues into liquid fuels and chemicals. He sees the opportunity in Canada for biofuel and biorefinery technologies to bring about major changes to our sustainable energy future.”

The Green Fuels Awards recognize achievements in the development, commercialization and promotion of low carbon renewable fuels such as ethanol and biodiesel in Canada.
